The pace

Standard live baccarat runs 45 to 60 seconds a hand. Speed tables run about 27, turbo tables under 20. A speed shoe is done in around 30 minutes; you see three times the hands per hour and three times the decisions.

Where players break

• Skipped logging. Miss two hands and the shoe you are reading is not the shoe on the screen.
• Sizing drift. Under time pressure, players round up. A $50 unit becomes $75 after a loss.
• Betting every hand. The rule says NO BET; the hand is closing; the bet goes in anyway.

Running several tables

Multi-tabling is the one real structural advantage of online play: more decisions per hour at the same rules. It only works if the logging is honest on every table.
